      <image:title>Blog - Morning Routines - From there, I would then drive into work, take calls on my way in and then sit in back to back meetings, race home, cook dinner while checking emails, taking work calls or calling friends to complain about having too much to do. I would drink wine, eat chocolate, pizza, anything to make me feel better, to numb out the pain. I would then mindlessly scroll the tv channels, desperately trying to find something to watch. Eventually I would decide on a show that I either loved (and then binge watch the entire series) or couldn’t get into, and so would scroll social, not engaged fully in either activities. Eventually falling asleep, only to wake and do it all again. My son was very young when I thought, enough is enough. I was miserable, I felt guilt and shame and so started looking at how I could make small changes, so I could feel better. The first change I made was to my morning routine.</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - 3 key hormones critical for weight loss, for over 40’s - I remember the first time I learnt that when you have insulin in your blood you cannot burn fat. I instantly thought, why in all my years of dieting and binging had I never heard this before?! It is something that when you think about it, makes complete sense. But it was something that never seemed to be talked about. In fact a lot of what I had heard, was that smaller frequent meals were the way to go.</image:title>
      <image:caption>This knowledge lead me down a path to learn all I could about hormones, and through this what I learnt is that whilst there are a heap of hormones, the 3 that I really focussed on to deal with these urgent cravings, to help me lose weight were: Insulin, a fat storage hormone, whose job is to clear the blood of sugar  Grelin,  the hormone that tells you when you are hungry. This is that grumbling feeling you get in your stomach, and Leptin,  the hormone that is responsible for letting you know when you’re full.  When we have elevated insulin, it impacts both Grelin and Leptin, which can then cause an imbalance, resulting in our body sending us false hunger signals.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Why diets and fitness programs fail us - When I was trying to lose weight, I kept hoping to find the magic food, I kept thinking maybe the answer lay in this diet, or this exercise plan, or this pill and so as a result I tried a heap. But the results were always the same. It always felt that something was missing. It felt like I was just putting make up each day, rather than treating and caring for my skin so that make up wasn’t required.</image:title>

They have convinced us that it is because we don’t know the secret food combination. And tell us that when we do, ‘poof our weight will just melt off.’ There would be the insta reels with these super fit woman in active wear telling you that you too can be like them. But we all know to have that level of muscle, you are doing a serious amount of weight training and for me that is not what I was after.</image:caption>
